Week 52 - Best Friend

Meet Scott.  He has seen me through all my photography projects so far and, bearing in mind we fell out the first time I pointed a camera at him because he didn't want his photo taken, he has ended up a willing model.  My Husband and, most definitely, my Best Friend.  I love him.

A wonderful way to end my Project 52.

Signing off from wild and windy Scotland.

Week 51 - Traditions

In the run up to Christmas in our house there are movie traditions.  Scooge (which we love to sing along to), It's A Wonderful Life (makes us all thankful for all we have) and one of my faves, Love Actually (I still laugh out loud)

Merry Christmas!

Week 50 - Stones

Think outside the box.  It is Week 50 and the topic is Stones.  Couldn't really post anything else, could I?

Week 49 - Movement

Gymnasts moves can be impressive and the kids at our Club never fail to impress us all.

Week 48 - Seasonal

Christmas decorations are hauled out of the attic every year . . . with excitement and anticipation!  :-)

Week 47 - Nightlife

I am a member of a choir in Edinburgh called Sing In The City. I love going along every week for my 2 hours of "Me Time" but I realised at our Christmas Night Out that perhaps the members don't get out often enough.  Take a look at this pic of Edinburgh's Nightlife!

Week 46 - Night-time

Edinburgh's City Centre comes alive in the Festive Season (which seems to be getting earlier and earlier every year) with the German Market and Winter Wonderland.

Week 45 - Family

Siblings - my mum and her little brother.  Love this photo.

Week 44 - Macro

It is incredible how much detail we miss everyday.  Just look at the down on these feathers.  I walk by them nearly every day on a dreamcatcher in our house but never picked out this detail before.

Week 43 - Light

As a photographer, light is so important to me.  Not just the amount of it and whether it is natural or man-made but also the direction it is coming from and how it reflects in the subjects eyes.  I just love the catch-lights in this baby's eyes.  In good catchlights you can actually see the shape/reflection of the source of the light when you zoom in close.  On this shot you can clearly see the tall, Victorian bay windows!

Week 42 - Children

Now if you ever come to Edinburgh then you should head up to the Churchhill Theatre in the leafy suburb of  Morningside wherein you will find Loopy Lorna's Tea House.  It is an amazing place with loads and loads of yummy, scrummy cakes and goodies but one thing that has always impressed me about this place beyond any others I have seen in the area is their welcoming attitude to kids.  The tiniest babe to the strong-willed toddler and even the stroppy teenagers who have just finished their school day are all welcome at Loopy's which, in my opinion, is just how it should be because NOBODY should miss out of the wonderful cakes.s
Take a stroll over to Loopy's at www.loopylorna.com or their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/pages/Loopy-Lornas-Tea-House-Morningside to check them out.

Week 41 - Stripes

I guess reflective stripes do work afterall :-)

Week 40 - Nature

Nature has some amazing talents.  Watching these butterflies emerge from the cocoons is just incredible.  Wish I had had time-lapse shots.  (Note to self: remember the tripod the next time you visit the butterfly farm).

Week 39 - Weather

Oh My Goodness!  No rain?  No clouds?  Blue sky?  Are you sure this isn't Sammee's photo 'cause we don't see this often in Scotland!!
